Current Favourites: My Top 10 Beauty Buys - Blog post by Shopping for a Cause

1. Becca ‘Beach Tint’ blush and lip-stain in “Grapefruit”

I first came across this product as a freebie on a fashion magazine and have been in love with it since. I have sought out many of the other colours but this is still my go to when I’m in a rush.
I don’t tend to wear foundation so this is great for a reliable wash of colour that looks very natural.
As its waterproof its perfect for swimming and for the lips and is long lasting. sell it for a great price and plenty of colours. they also have free samples with every purchase! It also has FREE SHIPPING on all Australian orders!! 😀

2. Revlon ‘ColorStay Moisture Stain’ Lip-gloss in “Parisian Passion”

Funnily enough I actually got this as part of a freebie pack as well (what can I say – I love a bargain!) and have had SO many complements when wearing it. It has an amazing smooth consistency that really does what it says and stains the lips. It lasts a long time and it isn’t sticky so is a dream to wear!

Chemist Warehouse currently have them on sale at 50% off until Oct 1st!

3. Maybelline ‘The Mega Plush Volum’ Express’ Mascara in “Blackest Black”

I recently gave this mascara a go as I lost my go to standard (Maybelline Full n Soft) and am really happy with the results. It stays on all day, isn’t too dry and leaves the lashed feel soft still. the only down side is the shape of the brush. It’s very full in shape (which I prefer) but it is also in an odd triangle shape with parts of the bristles flat and other parts longer (if that makes sense!? haha) anyway, I’m sure it ‘supposed’ to do something in regards to application but I haven’t noticed any difference. its actually takes a bit longer IMO. Though once on, its a great mascara for building nice thick lashes.

It’s currently 50% off at Chemist Warehouse!

4. Mac Superslick liquid eye liner in “Defiantly Feline”

I’m not usually one for sponge tip liquid eye-liners (I like bristles or pencils better) but since recently discovering MAC products (I know I’m late on the bandwagon) i bought this gorgeous slight metallic medium brown liner for a more casual look, instead of my usual black. It’s so easy to apply and it has amazing pigment and consistency, so much so that you don’t have to keep ‘dunking’ it to complete the line. just one swipe and your done! It also has a waterproof gel feel once dried, so it doesn’t run and it comes off ‘bits’ instead of all over your face when taking it off after the day.

I bought mine from Myer, but you can purchase it online from M.A.C here.

5. Imperial Leather moisturising body wash in ‘Beautiful’

This came out a couple of months ago at my work. There are three different scents but ‘Beautiful’ was my favourite. It’s a mix of Jasmine, Lychee and Peony and I swear, it smells just like Chanel Mademoiselle! It’s amazing!!

It’s available at Woolworths online here.

6. Clarisonic Mia 2

I’ve had this for just over a year now after being introduced to it when getting a facial at the beauty spa Groom.
This gets raved about for a reason – my skin is so clear and clean now since using this and I recommend it to everyone! Seriously – E.V.E.R.Y.O.N.E should own one of this. It’s a little bit pricey, but totally worth the price!!
You can get these for a more reasonable price on eBay (around $75 instead of the RRP of $190) and you can also buy the non branded brush heads on eBay as well. They are exactly the same but instead of $35 each they around $5! and they EXACTLY the same 😉
You can find the Clarisonic on eBay here and the replacement heads here.

7. Clinique ‘Moisture Surge’ face spray

This was another random find – I saw a mini tester on eBay once and as I loved their Moisture Surge Gel I thought I would give it a try as I hadn’t seen it before. As a result I was so happy with it I bought the full size!

It perfect for when you wash your face in the morning and you don’t want the heavy moisturiser feel afterwards. I just spritz this on and and let it dry and it feels perfectly moisturised with no oiliness.

It also great in the winter time when heating dries your skin out. It doesn’t affect your make-up as its so light!

An also bonus is that a little goes a long way – I’ve been using it for a good six months now and the bottle is still very full, so its great value for money.

Give it a try! 🙂 – Tell me what you think!

8. Heated eyelash curlers

There are many of these on the market, and although this one was just an el-cheapo I found on eBay (of course lol – These are around $2 from China)
I originally purchased it to give it a go as an idea, they quickly became one of my staples to curl my lashes. I use it after the mascara has dried as it helps ‘set’ the curl for longer. I find the heat helps the curl stay longer, especially with the weight of the mascara.
I’ve recently upgraded to the Mirenesse version, (which I haven’t received yet but it has won awards) but I have had a few friends interested when they’ve seen me using this so I think due the price its an easy and cheap way to try out some new curling techniques!

You can find similar here.

9. Mac ‘Prep + Prime’ Lip Primer

I originally started to get into M.A.C products because of this one. I love the idea of wearing lipsticks but have always had the problem of them drying out my lips or the lipstick comes off really easily. I’m not one to bother with lip-liner and some products would also run 🙁 this product is amazing at fixing this problem!
It moisturises and primes so once set it gets rid of all signs of dry or flakey-ness and has a light stick feel to help the lipstick adhere and stay on for longer.

This is a definite staple for me now and never wear any lip product without it 🙂

You can get it at online M.A.C here.

10. YSL Touche Éclat

This is another one of those popular items that are a magazine feature for a reason!

I started using this a couple of years ago and I literally use it every day under my eyes. Like I said earlier, I don’t use foundation or powder, I only use a concealer and blush and I use this for dark spots and under eye brightening. I’ve tried other products but they just haven’t been as good. They have either been to heavy and creased under my eyes or weren’t ever the correct colour. This is a must use for everyone and is worth the price!
